I am knitting baby cocoons and inserting a teddy bear also into a cocoon for mummy and Daddies who have lost a baby born sleeping or born very premature and do not survive.
I purchase the wool myself but have lots of spare time on my hands due to losing my husband last November after a very brief illness, so to give something back is something he would be so happy for the little angels.
Even though the request was unusual for us as most of our enquiries are for custom branded products for marketing or events.
Our Solution:
Using our extensive supplier network, I reached out to a teddy bear contact that had a collection of promotional bears small enough for the knitted cocoon.
As luck should have it, our custom bear partner was able to support not just with plain stock bears but a solution to use for bears destined for repair or the refuge tip. They were on board to help and even agreed to repair the bear's missing limbs, which were unsuitable for re-sale. So, we stopped the need for them to add to the landfill and helped Jean's cause.
In the bustling world of promotional products, where every request is a new story waiting to unfold, I've found my true calling. As an account manager, my days are filled with diverse challenges, but none so profound or fulfilling as those that touch on the delicate threads of human emotion and resilience.
It's not just about delivering merchandise products; it's about weaving hope, support, and love into the fabric of life's most pivotal moments. And now and then, I'm given the unique opportunity to help.
My passion lies in supporting charities, particularly those focused on neonatal care and stillbirth support. These causes are more than just areas of interest; they are close to my and my family's hearts due to our own personal experiences of loss.
The opportunity to make even the slightest difference in these challenging journeys for families drives me to go the extra mile every single time.
The Branded Company fully understood my commitment and led me to an extraordinary project: a custom teddy bear request from a client who needed more than just a promotional item.
They sought a symbol of comfort and hope for families navigating the heart-wrenching path of neonatal care and the devastating loss of stillbirth. This wasn't just another order to fulfil; it was a chance to extend a hand of support and craft a beacon of light in the darkest times during the loss of a child.
Understanding the profound impact this teddy bear could have, I immersed myself entirely in the project. It was more than ensuring the bear was perfect; it was about infusing every stitch and seam with compassion and care.
This teddy bear was to be a small but mighty force, offering solace and support to those in their most vulnerable moments.
In doing so, I was reminded of why I enjoy my role. It's not just about the branded products we create but the lives we touch and the comfort we can bring in times of need. This project was a testament to the power of empathy, the strength of community, and the boundless potential of a simple act of kindness.
Through this journey, I've learned that going the extra mile isn't just a choice but a responsibility I embrace wholeheartedly. In the realm of promotional products, we have the unique opportunity to turn ordinary items into extraordinary symbols of hope, love, and support.
And in these moments, these projects, I find the true essence of my work rewarding.
